Thailand Enhances Weather Monitoring with 16 CDY-18B Rainfall Stations from Coda Sensor
We are pleased to share the successful deployment and testing of 16 CDY-18B Automatic Rainfall Stations in Thailand. This project is a significant advancement for Thailand's weather monitoring system. Our local partner helped us complete it. The country will also respond better to climate-related challenges.
Why It Matters
Thailand frequently experiences extreme weather, including sudden downpours and seasonal flooding. Reliable rainfall data is essential for early warning systems, flood prevention, smart irrigation, and long-term climate planning. The team chose the CDY-18B due to its dependability, precision, and capability to function autonomously in tough outdoor environments.
Project Overview
The 16 rainfall stations were installed across a range of environments, including urban and flood-prone areas. Each unit is now transmitting real-time data via cellular networks to a centralized cloud platform. Local weather teams, researchers, and public agencies can access this data anytime. This helps them make informed decisions based on current rainfall conditions.
